We’re aware that dental anxiety is an issue for many children and their parents. That’s why your child’s initial visit to our dentist is all about being comfortable and building trust. Our services are focused on every child’s dental care, and it starts with a level of personal comfort to make them feel at ease.

Our Dentist will review your child’s dental care history in order to develop a care regimen moving forward. If necessary, We will take some X-rays and provide a thorough dental cleaning. We’ll also answer any questions you or your child have.

We recommend a check-up every six months to prevent cavities and other dental problems. However, more frequent check-ups may be necessary based on your personal oral health. If you or your child have experienced cavities, toothaches, or other dental issues, you may need to visit Smile Avenue – Dental Studio every 2-3 months, at least until any problems are taken care of.

A child should go to the dentist within six months after the first tooth erupts or no later than age one, according to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD). Because a child’s primary teeth typically begin growing in at around 6 months of age, taking a baby to the dentist early is a proactive approach for parents to ensure there are no issues with their child’s oral health.

And ultimately, this allows parents to reduce a child’s risk of short- and long-term oral health issues. What’s more, a baby’s first visit to the dentist encourages a life-long, positive association with the dentist. At Smile Avenue – Dental Studio, We also treat teens and adults.

Typically, children lose all 20 of their baby teeth over the course of their childhood up until about the age of 13. Baby teeth eventually will be replaced with up to 32 permanent teeth (28 without wisdom teeth). And as your child loses baby teeth, permanent ones will begin to erupt in their place.

Children have 20 baby teeth – 10 on the top and 10 on the bottom. These teeth act as placeholders for the adult teeth that grow in after the baby teeth fall out.Adults have more teeth than children. Most adults have 32 teeth, including four canines, eight incisors, eight premolars, and 12 molars (as well as four wisdom teeth).

For the most part, a child’s 20 baby teeth usually fall out in the order in which they developed. A child’s baby teeth typically come in by age 3, and the lower center teeth (lower central incisors) are usually the first to go. This typically occurs around age 5 or 6.
