Root canals are an important oral procedure for a few distinct reasons. For many patients, a root canal will allow them to speak and eat again without pain. This procedure will also minimize the amount of damage to the tooth and potentially prevent a tooth extraction in the future. If the infection spreads to the interior pulp and canals, the patient will need a root canal to clear away the infected material and reinforce the tooth structure.
The aligners are custom-made for your teeth and are designed to be virtually invisible, making them a popular alternative to traditional metal braces. The average treatment lasts 5 to 6 Months.
While Our Teeth Are Incredibly Resilient To Damage, The Interior Of Each Tooth Is Quite Susceptible To Infection. Root Canals Are Necessary When Tooth Decay And Bacteria Destroy The Outer Layer Of The Tooth And Infect The Interior Pulp. The Root Canal Procedure Begins With A Local Anesthetic Being Injected Into The Gums In Order To Numb The Area. Our Dentist Will Then Use A Special Drill To Make A Small Hole In The Tooth And Expose The Pulp. The Infected Pulp Is Removed With Specialized Dental Tools And The Chamber Is Reinforced With A Filler. At That Point, The Dentist Will Then Cap Off The Hole That They Have Made With A Crown Or Filling. Dental Crowns Are Custom-Made For Every Single Patient And Are Designed To Match The Look Of Their Natural Teeth.

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure used to treat infection at the center of a tooth. It involves removing the infected or damaged pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the inside of the tooth, and then filling and sealing it.
A root canal is necessary when the pulp inside the tooth becomes infected or inflamed due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures, faulty crowns, or a crack or chip in the tooth. Left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.
Modern root canal treatments are relatively painless, thanks to advances in anesthesia and dental techniques. Most patients report that the experience is similar to having a cavity filled.
Common symptoms include severe toothache, prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold, discoloration of the tooth, swelling and tenderness in nearby gums, or a recurring pimple on the gums.
The dentist or endodontist will numb the area around the tooth, create an opening in the crown of the tooth, remove the infected or damaged pulp, clean and shape the root canals, and then fill and seal the space. The tooth is then restored with a filling or crown.
A root canal typically takes one to two visits, with each visit lasting about 60 to 90 minutes. The exact time can vary depending on the complexity of the case.
After the procedure, you may experience some sensitivity or discomfort, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Most patients can return to their normal activities the next day.
Follow your dentist’s instructions, which may include avoiding chewing on the treated tooth until it’s fully restored. Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing regularly, and visit your dentist for regular check-ups.
Often, a tooth that has undergone a root canal will need a crown to restore its strength and functionality. Your dentist will discuss the best restoration option for your specific case.
With proper care, a tooth that has undergone a root canal can last a lifetime. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene are essential to maintaining the health of your treated tooth.
Most teeth can be treated with a root canal. However, in some cases where the tooth is severely damaged or lacks sufficient structure, extraction might be necessary. Your dentist will evaluate your situation to determine the best course of action.
Preserving your natural tooth is generally the best option, as it maintains your bite and jaw structure. Root canal treatment allows you to keep your tooth, which is preferable to extraction followed by a bridge or implant.
Antibiotics are not typically necessary for root canal treatment unless you have a specific medical condition that warrants them or there is an active infection that needs to be managed. Your dentist will advise you based on your individual health needs.

Nashley TicasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was my first time here and I was really nervous because it’s been a few years since I’ve been to the dentist. Right when I walked into the waiting room it was very welcoming, very clean, and modern. The front desk woman whose name I didn’t catch was very nice and greeted me with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. I got called in just after waiting for a few minutes. The dental assistant Gigi was super nice, very welcoming, and had some great humor too. She definitely helped ease my anxiety. Once I met Dr.Mehta, he came in with his warm energy and kindness. He made me feel very comfortable. He was super nice and made my experience coming to the dentist much better. He explained things very clearly and made sure I was up to date with everything. Lastly, the other front desk receptionist who’s named Nikkie helped me make my future appointment. She was super nice and very friendly. Overall, I wish I could give this dentist 10 stars but they truly made me feel comfortable and made my experience which I thought was going to be nerve wracking and horrible to the complete opposite! I would recommend coming to get your dentist work here and I am looking forward to my future appointments here. Thank you to all the staff at Smile Avenue! :)) Apple SeedTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend this practice from someone with some pretty bad dental anxiety. The place is well kept and clean which already gives a welcoming environment. The dentist is informative and straight forward with what needs to be done. He seems to care and wants to save the teeth if he can. They are very clear with payments and will work with you financially. The last place quoted me over 15k for my dental work and I haven’t even gone over 2k yet. I will gladly pay whatever if it means I’m going to be comfortable. Reception, everything. I seriously could not recommend this place more.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
